1. The Historic Features of our B&B
Our B&B, found snuggled away in this small town of Biggar, Scotland... It has some of the most historic features within Biggar! Whether you’re somewhat of a social media enthusiast, or just someone who loves capturing memories on cam! Our B&B offers a whole host of picture-perfect scenes! Take a snapshot of the old gearing mechanism found in the centre of our warm and cosy breakfast area! Just steps away you'll also find the remnants of the waterwheel that once helped to churn grain down for agricultural purposes once upon a time. Take a look for yourself:


Tip: Early mornings or golden hour are best to highlight the aged textures and stonework.
2. A Walk Through Biggar Burn Braes
Located directly outside The Old Mill, Bed & Breakfast, is the Burn Braes Park. The perfect place for family outings! Giving both the kids and adults of the family time to enjoy the cosy atmosphere of Biggar's natural beauty. It's valley-like location gives it a unique yet comforting feeling. Upon this walk, you'll find charming bridges that have lasted centuries. On this short stroll: Expect to find vibrant greenery of the local area, a variety of children's play zones, and a beautiful river flowing alongside you the whole way! It’s just a short stroll from our door, and it truly comes alive in spring and autumn. Expect mossy stones, birdsong, and the occasional curious squirrel making a cameo in your photos.

Tip: Although the park is most popular in warm Summer days. If you're truly looking for a unique experience... Visit during the snowy days of winter. At this time you'll find crowds sledging down the sides of the park's hills. Bring your sledge!
3. Biggar High Street
The High Street of Biggar is the central hub of the town! Showcasing its visitors with a blend of the old Scottish world, and the modernity of the town's colourful shopfronts.
It's a place where even a simple snapshot on a bench would be enough to capture the unique style of this small town. Maybe you could take a pit stop inside one of Biggar's warm and inviting coffee spots. The hustle and bustle of this place all depends on when you visit.

Tip: If you plan your stay right... You might be met with one of Biggar's annual events.

4. Tinto Hill (The Adventurous Option!)
Is hiking up a mountain on your list of things to do? Tinto Hill might be the perfect place for you! This climb would take an average of 2-4 hours to complete, going both up and down. The views are found at the top are sure to be worth a quick "We made it!" snapshot!
Once you reach the top, you'll also find a unique sight of unnaturally placed rocks and stones. This is what's known as a cairn in Scotland. This ancient tradition of carrying rocks to mark your presence there has lasted thousands of years! Panoramic landscapes, rolling hills, and dramatic skies—this is where your wide-angle lens shines.

Tip: You are more than welcome to add to the collection of rocks found atop Tinto Hill.

5. The Beauty of Biggar Kirk
Biggar Kirk sits as one of the oldest buildings in Biggar. The history of the church site can be traced back to 1164, whilst the building we know today actually being completed in 1547. This historic spot welcomes everyone! If you visit during its Sunday service, you'll see the true beauty of this ancient building of God. Its old-school style, and stunning stone architecture will be sure to enhance your social media profiles with its spiritual beauty seeping through its walls... Adding an ethereal glow to your photos!
